Experience
David was appointed to the position of Chief Medical Officer at Zealand Pharma in June 2022. Most recently, David served as Zealand's Senior Global Medical Advisor. David has established his position as a trusted and knowledgeable leader through 35+ years of experience in roles including Chief Medical Officer for MannKind Corporation, VP – Medical Affairs and Distinguished Medical Fellow at Eli Lilly and Company, as Chief Scientific and Medical Officer for the American Diabetes Association, and Executive Director of Medical Affairs at Amylin Pharmaceuticals.
His expertise spans both leadership positions and a strong clinical career including roles as both Chief of Clinical Services and Medical Director at the International Diabetes Center and as faculty at the University of Minnesota.
Education
David is a physician trained in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Olaf College.
