Zealand Pharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative peptide-based products that target indications (diseases and symptoms) of significant unmet clinical need and commercial potential.

Since 1999, Zealand’s scientists have built a pipeline of compounds among which many have reached the clinical development stage. For the time being Zealand Pharma has one compound in clinical phase III development, one compounds in clinical phase II development and three compounds in clinical phase I development. In addition, two compounds are in pre-clinical development.

As part of the Company’s operations, Zealand Pharma has formed clinical development partnerships with the leading pharmaceutical companies, sanofi-aventis and Wyeth (now Pfizer).

Zealand Pharma’s specialized know-how in peptide chemistry enables the generation of novel peptide molecules with unique therapeutic qualities.   

One of the aims of Zealand Pharma’s proprietary SIP®-technology (Structure-Inducing Probe technology) is to optimize the therapeutic profile of a broad range of active peptides (e.g., increased efficacy, increased drug stability, and increased persistence in the human body).
