Daniël Jan Ellens, Chairman of the Board
Chairman of the Board since December 2007. Board member since 2005. Dr. Ellens holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from State University Utrecht in the Netherlands and an MBA from the University Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Dr. Ellens is Venture Partner at Life Sciences Partners, Amsterdam, President of Elkerim GmbH, a Swiss biotech consulting company, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rhein Biotech N.V., Maastricht, the Netherlands, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of 4-Antibody AG, Basel, Switzerland. Within the past five years, Dr. Ellens has held positions as Chief Executive Officer of Rhein Biotech N.V. (resigned December 2004), Chief Operating Officer of Berna Biotech AG (resigned December 2004), Chief Operating Officer of Green Cross Vaccine Corporation Ltd (resigned December 2001) and Member of the Supervisory Board of Life Sciences Partners (resigned May 2004).
